At St Edward's, we enjoy working on different Design Technology projects.
We cover the National Curriculum targets as well as linking to current topics or projects with in our school.
We are creative and practical. We develop our skills and confidence by revisiting techniques and skills throughout the year. We take inspiration from artists and designers and the world around us.
We are reflective of our work and our processes; we do this through sharing our work, discussion, and recording in our sketchbooks.
Projects
This year the children across the school, designed and created moving storybooks. Their books were inspired by the story of Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival.
The children designed a character, they learned about sliders and movers to enable their character to move. They created a front cover, and an inside page and put it all together.
Across the school, all classes will work on a new DT project this term, including sewing, weaving, model making, and making puppets. We will share the photos soon! Progress of our work can be found on our Instagram page:
