Welcome from Mr Keohane:
Welcome to our school website, and thank you for virtually visiting us!
St Edward’s Catholic First School is a First School, meaning that we cater for children aged 4 – 9 (Reception to Year 4). Situated a short walk away from the town centre of Windsor, it serves the Parish of St Edward’s and St Mark’s in the Diocese of Portsmouth and is maintained in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Back to School We are looking forward to welcoming you back to school tomorrow morning. All children to be dropped off at the courtyard gate between 8:30am and 8:40am. The children will make their way to class independently. The new Fledgling children will either attend tomorrow or Friday and need to be dropped off at 9am and collected at 3pm. At collection, enter through the courtyard gates and onto the playground via the corridor if collecting from Year 2, Year 3 or Year 4, where the children will be dismissed onto the playground. Year 1 will be dismissed into the courtyard. Fledglings to be collected via the Fledgling outdoor area. Don't forget school bags, coats (it looks like rain for the next couple of days) water bottles, and a healthy break time snack for Key Stage 2 children. See you tomorrow.

Years 3 and 4 had a special treat when they were visited by local author @philipkavvadias, who inspired young minds by talking about his writing process and the latest book from his "Mission" series. The children were thrilled to help shape his next book by choosing characters and vehicles – a fantastic opportunity to see their creative ideas come to life in print!

During April, we were fortunate to be featured within The Craft Coop's gallery space. Our centrepiece was a collaborative artwork (a 'Book Tree') including creations by each child on World Book Day. The children were challenged to draw their favourite book character within a circle. Either side of the 'Book Tree' were canvases created by our Y4 Reading Ambassadors, representing the authors we have welcomed to St Edward's during this academic year: Simon Murray, Hannah Peckham, Mel Taylor-Bessent and Zeb Soanes. The smaller canvases were created by our Year 3 Reading Ambassadors and contain illustrations from Fiona Barker's stories. Thank you to those who have visited our display already and hopefully those who haven't will by the end of the month!

As a Catholic school, we value and respect every person as an individual, always remembering our school mission that “we see Jesus in everything we do.”
The curriculum we offer to all of our pupils is broad, balanced, and firmly rooted in the Gospel values. In addition, the school promotes the British values of democracy, liberty, tolerance, and mutual respect through the school curriculum.
Our curriculum is enriched by a diversity of learning experiences that aim to develop pupils’ creativity and independence, so that they can become learners for life.
The school has high expectations of behaviour and attitudes. The hard-working staff at the school strive to ensure that each child is appropriately challenged and excited to learn, so that they can achieve well and develop as well-rounded individuals.
St Edward's First recognises the importance of fostering a healthy home-school partnership. We understand that as parents, you know your child better than anyone and so we actively encourage regular communication and contact between home and school through parent meetings, consultation evenings, and curriculum information workshops.
The school enjoys the support of a committed and supportive Board of Governors and a very active and enthusiastic Friends of St Edward's First association. This, together with the well–established parish links that the school maintains with St Edward's Church, ensures a strong partnership between school, home,e and parish where our children can flourish and grow in Christ.
